senseless

Granny is in hospital now. Doctor says, bacteria / germ (i duno which one) had entered her blood stream, that is why she's having fever every now and then. Some of her organs also failed. I went to visit her at TTSH yesterday afternoon, right after my morning tuition. She looked lethargic but my dad claimed that the day before, she was even more lethargic. She could barely open her eyes and talk.

Whenever Granny gets hospitalised, the issue of religion pops up. It's not an exception this time round. In fact, while I was there, the topic came up again. Well, this time... religion is a hot topic cos.. apparently the doctor told us to be prepared. Things don't look good this time round, and it's all up to her and the medicine they gave to help her combat the evil substance in her.

Anyway, from my pt of view, she had prepared all her life to have a buddhist funeral. But when she became sensile, some people claimed that she wanted to be a Christians and subsequently had her baptised. Honestly, it doesn't matter to me whether she wants to be a buddhist or a christians. What really matters is, what does she want. However, sometimes I feel like even some of her own children don't let her choose what she wants.

I saw tears in her eyes when they were talking abt the religion thing. She might be sensile, but she's not dumb. It's obvious she doesn't want to offend ppl. What makes me mad is... why are those ppl forcing the religion onto her when it's clearly not her choice.

Religion is alwayz a sensitive issue. Even if u truly believe in ur religion and that no other religion is true, jus keep it to yourself. Because (1) other ppl should be given the freedom to choose their own path. (2) what you believe might not even exist at all. You believe in what you believe. But others might not believe in what you believe. There's no happiness in forcing other to believe what you believe.

What makes me mad is that they keep claiming that she doesnt believe in the other religion and would often rebuke others (who are supportive of the other religion) that they do not love her as they love her.

RUBBISH.

If the others don't love her as much as they love her, then they wouldn't even bothered to argue their way. Plus, who would want to choose an alternation that would probably waste more money. If they really dun love her, they would jus settle for the cheapest alternative and not waste time n effort to argue their way.

Adults. No matter how old they are, sometimes... some of them really have no brain or common sense of their own.

And I'm sad to say, this made me lose lots of respect for them.
